About ARCS

This language may be used as boilerplate in funding proposals where the ARCS department or individual ARCS faculty librarian has committed to participate.

Academic Research Consulting and Services (ARCS), a department of the University of Florida George A. Smathers Libraries, provides a comprehensive suite of expertise to empower research across campus. Faculty librarians consult and collaborate in areas such as artificial intelligence, bioinformatics, geographic information systems, and data management, helping researchers plan, analyze, manage, and share complex data throughout the research lifecycle. The team also works directly with faculty, staff, and students engaged in scholarly publishing, whether they are undertaking a systematic review or navigating the open access landscape. ARCS faculty partner with subject specialist librarians and other experts across the university to advance research initiatives and infrastructure, facilitate training and consultation services, and strengthen UF’s capacity for high-impact research. ARCS services help ensure that projects meet high standards for data integrity, equity, and methodological transparency, advancing UF’s reputation as a leader in scientific discovery and research excellence.
